This Saturday at the legendary Red Dog:Ohm is our record release party for our “Good Old Daze LP” coming out on Farris Wheel Recordings. It is an honor and pleasure to play at such a long standing venue with so many good people. This album is some of the best work of Broadway & Wilson (Andrew Emil & myself) and I’m really looking forward to sharing it with the world!

This Monday night the third annual Chicago Jack Summit will commence on Streetbeat WNUR 89.3 The Fringe with hosts DJ Sangre and D-Vo. Uptown Lounge, PO!NTF!VE Presents on Friday nights is the place to be for good underground music. Don Clark helped pave the way, and was the Saturday night resident when I first started. He is the first one to book me there. He is also an upcoming producer with some tracks on the way out. Definitely want to come out for a great night of music!

Saturday will be the first time playing in Denver for me, so I’m very excited. I’m also thankful to Uriah West who holds down Bump Shop After Hours on Saturday at TWO A.M. TWO A.M. is an 18 and over spot, so it will be interesting to see how a younger crowd gets down. Anyone in the Denver, CO area come through!

The Chicago underground music scene has definitely been dealt a serious blow with the closing of clubs such as Sonotheque and Lava Lounge. There are only so many venues that are showcasing good underground talent, let alone any of the up-and-comers. With that said, I feel extremely thankful that I am still in a position to have a place for so many talented people to play. Many people complain about the scene dying, but if those who are complaining aren’t going out and supporting the underground, then they are part of the problem. Come be part of the solution! What to tell you about Joshua that you don’t already know? You might know him as one half of Iz & Diz, with tracks out on the legendary Classic Recordings, Tweekin’, Aesoteric, Classic, and Vizual among others. You may know him from his past residencies all over the globe including Fabric in London. I know him from buying his records for all of the 10 years that I have been playing, and he has been a large influence for many including myself in the house music scene. This weekend prepare yourself for two great consecutive nights of FREE house music at Uptown Lounge!  Friday is another excellent edition of PO!NTF!VE Presents… with guest DJs Greg K & Juwan Rates.  Greg promotes Midnite Moves, a Sunday night weekly event at Between Lounge in Wicker Park, good music and good people, definitely something to check out. I met Juwan Rates at this Halloween at fun party with the South Of Roosevelt cats, and Roshan from Home Schooled Music. Juwan was banging it, playing a lot of tracks I like to throw down, so I invited him to come drop some cuts. You definitely want to check these two guys out this Friday, we go 10-4am!

Saturday, My Boy Elroy and I are long over due for this Uptown Dipdown.  The party was originally planned a month ago, but I guess we needed to build up more anticipation!  My Boy Elroy aka David Arredondo is one of my favorite people to play alongside due to his good taste in music and his undeniable high energy.  Prepare yourself for a night of music madness, and a beat box performance if you are lucky!  Saturday is also FREE and goes 10-5am!
